the new standard for logins

Why do I need to offer passkeys now?

01

User demand

Apple, Google and Microsoft now offer passkeys to millions of users. Those users will ask for passkey logins from other providers.

02

Competitive advantage

First online services implement passkeys (see below). Those who have not yet done so need to catch up and make their login processes future-proof.

03

Easy integration

Out-of-the-box solutions like Corbado can be easily integrated into existing systems. We help to keep up with the development of passkeys.

Since when do passkeys exist?

In March 2022, the FIDO alliance - an industry group dedicated to “solving the world’s password problem”, which Apple, Google and Microsoft belong to - announced that they created a way to store digital keys securely and let them sync between users’ devices, which they called “multi-device FIDO credentials” or simply “passkeys”. The support for passkeys was emphasized by Google in May 2022 at Google I/O 2022 and Apple at WWDC 2022 in June 2022.
